A sheave is a grooved wheel that is used for guiding and holding wire rope. The sheave rotates which allows the wire rope to move freely, minimizing the friction and wear on the rope as well as providing smooth operation. A grooved wheel or pulley used with a rope to change direction and point of application of a pulling force.

Our heavy duty blue painted spare sheaves are made from cast iron steel and would make an ideal replacement for a broken sheave. This pulley wheel sheave is suitable for a wire and rope from 8mm up to 22mm. Sheaves can be found in a range of equipment such as pulley blocks or in equipment that uses wire cable. They are especially prevalent in the industrial sector, whilst also being commonplace in the agricultural and marine industries.
